Dino Mora who is quite regular in Goa has planned to be there for New Year with his entire family and friends. Sushmita Sen has a reason to celebrate this year. She will be in Goa with her two daughters Renee and Alicia.

Shahid Kapoor who is also planning to be in Goa for New Year celebrations said, “I’ll be in Goa for the New Year celebration. Looking forward to lot of fun and I am excited”. No doubt Goa will be getting hot and happening with the presence of Bollywood.

Katrina, Aamir are the most downloaded Bollywood Sizzling Celebrities.

Bollywood Hot Actress Katrina Kaif and Bollywood Hot Bold Actor Aamir Khan are the most downloaded Bollywood Hot Celebrities, according to Bharti Airtel’s mobile phone usage survey. The survey- Airtel Mobitude 2009- captures the preference and choice of over 116 million mobile users located across India.

Based on the compilation of data that captures all downloaded content by an Airtel Mobile user during 2009, Airtel Mobitude is an annual survey that will be released by Bharti Airtel at the end of every calendar year.

“Airtel Mobitude 2009 reflects the true choice of India. A mobile phone is considered by many as an intrinsic part of their daily life, be it a user in a small village or in a large town. It fulfills a consumer’s social and entertainment needs, from communicating with others, to downloading music, images and games, ” said Atul Bindal, President- Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Spreading across different parameters, Airtel Mobitude 2009 highlights interesting choices and preferences of ‘Mobile India’.

For instance, Katrina Kaif and Aamir Khan were the most downloaded celebrities on an Airtel mobile beating the likes of Kareena Kapoor - Bebo, Salman Khan - Sallubhai and Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan. Surprisingly, the survey also showcased that mobile users prefer to download a lot of Hollywood celebrities’ as much as Bollywood superstars.

Over 200 million music downloads were completed by Airtel users in 2009.

The study reflected that maximum music was downloaded by mobile users in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharastra and Punjab. Regional music was as popular as Hindi songs in all these States. Surprisingly Jab Dekho Phone Kar Dete Ho, an April Fool Joke is the most downloaded music ahead of Jai Ho of Slumdog Millionaire.

The Indian Cricket team still rules supreme in the popularity charts amongst (Male) sports personalities. International Tennis Player Rafael Nadal completes the top five in this category. In the women sports category, Maria Sharapova was the most downloaded sports personality ahead of India’s Sania Mirza.

Airtel Mobitude also captured the most connected occasion over a mobile phone. Users send maximum messages on the New Year followed by Diwali, Dusshera and interestingly Friendship Day.

Airtel Mobitude 2009 is a compilation of millions of downloads and billions of SMS by Airtel customers across cities, towns and villages of India. The study offers yet another medium to conduct consumer behaviour studies that reflect a larger community of people across strata and regional boundary.

Bollywood gets its fingernails polished with election dots.


Bollywood turned up in big numbers to vote in the assembly polls.

All three Khans—Shahrukh, Salman, Aamir—were there.


While SRK spoke about cleanliness, infrastructure and the economy, and Salman voted for “prosperity,” Aamir wanted, “a leader who does not rule on the basis of caste or creed.”

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan voted in Juhu, but Abhi and Ash could not as because busy at shooting with Mani Ratnam.Samajwadi party leader Sanjay Dutt came with wife Manyata.


“Whoever wins should fulfil all promises,” said Munnabhai. Manyata, though, said she was only voting to exercise her fundamental right but had no expectations because, “they are never fulfilled.”
Khiladi Kumar Akshay was registered as a voter two stations. “I voted at Lokhandwala since my ration card has that address. But I have a house in Juhu too,” clarified Kumar.

As always, John Abraham was one of the first actors to vote. John stressed on the importance of better infrastructure in Mumbai. First-time voter Priyanka Chopra had to wait for over an hour at a Versova polling booth after the EVM collapsed.

“Since I’m young, I want the new government to be youth focused,” said Chopra.
Director Karan Johar had to make two trips to the polling booth after he was sent back for not carrying a voting slip. “Infrastructure, slum rehab and citizen protection against civil and criminal injustice should be the core issues,” said Johar.

Among those who didn’t show up were Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Kajol, Ajay Devgan, Yash Chopra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta.

Show goes on: While the entire city shut down for polls, shootings of popular TV serials Uttaran, Sajan Ghar Jana Hai, a Balaji serial and one ad film were on at Film City.

Justifying the shoots, Vithal Rathod of Film City said that permissions to shoot on Tuesday were granted a long time ago. “But offices were closed,” Rathod said.

Dinesh Chaturvedi, general secretary of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees was in no mood for excuses. “If the government forced hotels, malls and multiplexes to shut down, how were they okay with this?” he asked.
