Priyanka-Shahrukh pairing once again!

Shahrukh Khan has given Tarun Mansukhani a new task, after the director directed a few scenes for his home production “Ra.One”. Now that Dostana 2 is on hold, the Dostana 2 director will pen a fresh script for Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. Since the suggestion came from Khan, Mansukhani was more than happy to jump at it.

A source reveals, “For now, there is a complete stalemate over the Dostana sequel. Tarun has finished writing the sequel but producer Karan Johar is not happy with the second half. After many rewrites, Mansukhani has now given up. Anyway he is committed to do a film with Karan’s production house, the Priyanka-Shahrukh film might be the thing. Dostana released in 2008 and the director has been raring to start his second film, and has kept himself busy directing commercials”.

Shahrukh Khan opined that since Dostana 2 was on hold, Tarun should come up with something featuring PC and him. The source adds, “Shahrukh Khan has already had a chat with Karan and has expressed his desire for the Dostana director to come up with a subject for the pair”.

While details on the project are now known, the source confirms that Tarun is quite excited with the prospect of writing a plot for them, “He has already shown interest and will begin work on a script”.

SRK called himself 'the great Indian dream'

From an outsider to the film industry to its biggest superstar, SRK has managed to script a real life story that has mostly been a reel plot.

SRK does not shy away from talking about this masterstroke of destiny that saw a young man with no connections scale the lofty peaks of Bollywood on his own. In a recent interview, SRK called himself 'the great Indian dream' and rightly so. Explaining it, the superstar says, "I have so much to thank God for. Imagine a guy with no connections, an orphan who did TV to survive becomes a top star on his own. I will call myself the great Indian dream."

SRK, who also admits that his injury issues have taken a toll on his professional commitments says, "When I look back, I sometimes miss the things I could do when I had no injury issues. Because of my injuries, I also couldn't do as much work as I wanted to." And finally talking about RA.ONE, SRK admits that he wants this film to set an example as far as superhero films are concerned.

Zoa Morani new sexy SRK’s heroine!

Zoa Morani, who makes her film debut with Shah Rukh Khan's Always Kabhi Kabhi, believes the movie is a perfect launch pad for her in Bollywood.

She worked as an assistant director to Rajkumar Santoshi for Halla Bol (2008) and Farah Khan for Om Shanti Om (2007) and also trained in acting from Anupam Kher's acting school Actor Prepares.
"I feel the movie is the perfect debut for me. It feels really good to be part of Shah Rukh's film. It's a great thing," said Zoa, after walking the ramp for designer Pallavi Mohan on Day Five of Lakme Fashion Week.
Directed by debutante Roshan Abbas, Always Kabhi Kabhi, which is produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, is based on the theme of high-school life.


About the film, Zoa said, "It is about children evolving from childhood to adolescence. It's a very good and new theme. We are sure everyone would like it."The film also stars Giselle Monterio, who played the role of Harleen opposite Saif Ali Khan in hit film Love Aaj Kal. About her association with SRK, Zoa said, "I just remember he had told us that we must work hard and if we work hard and are true to ourselves and our work, then we will make God happy and eventually he will take care of everything."


The film is an adaptation of a play Roshan had written and directed way back in 1999 called Graffiti about life at high school.

Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan having ambitious plan to build a cricket stadium!

Actress Juhi Chawla and her hubby Jai Mehta along with Shahrukh Khan have launched an ambitious plan to build a cricket stadium in Porbandar, Gujrat. The reason why Mahatma Gandhi’s birthplace has been selected is because Jai’s family has roots there as well.

The Kolkata Knight Riders owners plan to take over the existing Duleep cricket ground in the city and build a state-of-the-art stadium to be named after Nanji Kalidas Mehta — Jai’s grandfather — in its place. The Mehtas also have other business interests in the vicnity of Porbandar.

Apart from adding another venue to Gujarat’s cricket itinerary, it is also being viewed as a centre where the KKR team can have training camps.

Shahrukh Khan is most likely to be in Chennai today!

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is most likely to be in Chennai today. The actor is scheduled to perform tomorrow at the inaugural function of the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The actor is all set to rock the much awaited opening ceremony, which will kick start the fourth season of the cricketing league.

The event has already garnered the attention of cricket crazy fans in the country, post the re-auctioning of players. Confirming the news, B Srinivasan of Team Chennai told, “Yes, he is performing at the event”.

The opening ceremony will be a high profile ceremony with King Khan shaking a leg to some super hit filmi numbers. A source informs, “The actor is rehearsing in Mumbai at the moment for the big event. He will land in the city this afternoon”.

All eyes are on the opening match between defending champions Chennai and Kolkata that will be played in the city on Friday after the inauguration ceremony.

Meanwhile, captain of the home team, M S Dhoni is excited to b back in the city. He said, “I simply cut my hair after the World Cup win. But, considering the heat in Chennai, I think it’s a good decision”.

Shahrukh as an item boy for his home production!

Its time for Shahrukh Khan to put on his dancing shoes and turn into an item boy for his home production “Always Kabhi Kabhi“. Sources working on the project reveal to us that Shahrukh’s dance number will be the key highlight of the movie that is being directed by Roshan Abbas and stars his friend Karim Morani’s daughter Zoa.

The insider reveals, “Shahrukh Khan has worked on his body and he will sport a new look to in the song. It is merely going to be used as a promotional tool to hype the movie much like what he had done earlier for Kaal in which he shook a leg with Malaika Arora Khan and in Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4 for which he did it as a friendly gesture to the Roshans”.

With Shahrukh’s injury now being a thing of the past, he has his physique back and he intends to flaunt it in the song.

Salman, Shahrukh Avoid Each Other At Imran’s Reception

There were little spots of tension on the evening of Imran Khan and Avantika Malik’s wedding reception hosted by Maamujaan Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao. After all, it was touted that Aamir would play mediator between expected guests Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan and get the two to patch up on this special night.

But alas, that was not to happen. Salman Khan reached the venue at about 11:45, sporting a jacket on top of his ‘Being Human’ t-shirt. Salman Khan walked in with brother Sohail Khan.

Apparently, Salman made a quick exit and that too from the back gate. Salman’s exit from the event happened way before Shahrukh Khan’s entry. SRK attended the event with wife Gauri Khan. They came in late night around 2:30 am.

So a patch up between Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan at this do was just not possible, though many a well wisher of the two Khans was hopeful that the hatchet would be buried, courtesy host Aamir.

We guess, we will have to wait for another celebration of this magnitude for such magic to happen.

Shah Rukh Khan as a professor in ‘Student of the Year’

When Karan Johar released the first look of his next project ‘Student of the Year’, with newcomers Varun Dhawan, Aaliya Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra, what struck us most was the conspicuous absence of his best friend and buddy Shah Rukh Khan in the project.

But we all know by now that Karan Johar and Shah Rukh go inseparably hand-in-hand. So, now we have it that Johar has indeed kept a meaty role for King Khan in similar lines to that played by him in superhit ‘Mohabbatein’. Yes, actor will play a college professor whom the students adore and KJo is working on the script to make SRK’s role more powerful. For those who came in late, Shah Rukh is also co-producing the film.

Shahrukh Khan's 'D' new tattoo!

Bollywood is filled with tattoo mania and many stars have their own signature tattoos made across their body parts. Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan are some of the Bollywood stars, who are known for their famous love for tattoos.

However, superstar Shahrukh Khan was never seen spotting any real tattoo. Once, he uploaded his tattoo filled photo throughout the body. But all those were temporary and fake tattoos only to please his kids, who are fond of the art form.

Now, the latest reports suggest that SRK was recently spotted with the alphabet ‘D’ tattooed on his arm. It appeared like a tattoo but there is no confirmation on it. He was spotted with this tattoo on his way to Singapore at the airport. He was leaving for an awards event.

Well, there is a guess if the alphabet ‘D’ is meant for his upcoming film Don 2. However, it may be related to his much talked movie Ra.One or may be for some endorsement! We need to wait for a clearance from King Khan himself in this regard. Till then, keep guessing!

In a dance reality show named Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, in which Madhuri Dixit is a judge, the King of Bollywood complimented her by saying, how stupid of him to teach dance to Madhuri Dixit in the movie Dil toh Pagal hai as a protagonist.

The Khans are together!

Guess what, the Khans are together. Shah Rukh and Salman, that is. Absolutely, side by side. Hah, gotcha! In frames that is, clicked by celeb foto genius Dabboo Ratnani, no less.

Hopes of seeing the Khans together in the future might possibly be restricted to this round of proximity. Dabboo Ratnani held a recent exhibition of the frozen images clicked by him and star attendance, expectedly was in no deficit.

Incidentally, SRK's "patch up moves" on Karan Johar's chat show have gotten the (star) goat of Salman. The explosive Khan is all set to lose his shirt some more, over SRK's comments.

"If he really wanted us to patch up, he could have called me or come to my house," rants Salman in a tabloid chat. "Expressing regret on a chat show makes no difference to me. Shah Rukh's doing this so that I'm hounded by the media over his question for the next one year. I'll not accept such drama."

Shah Rukh Khan takes 300 feet plunge for Don 2

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is yet to come out of his superhero persona. After doing some death-defying stunts for sci-fi thriller Ra.One, the actor took the challenge again with a 300 feet plunge while shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 in Berlin.

Shahrukh recently tweeted about this incident as “Just did an over 300 feet base jump for Don… because you all make me believe I can fly. Time to tell kids about the birds and the bees… ha ha.”

 

“My jump was last shot of day. Want to thank my duplicate and action team, to do it before me for wide shots and make me feel confident about it,” he added.

Shahrukh worried with Robot`s success

In the wake of Rajni's blockbuster, King Khan called for a day-long meeting with the RA.One team, deciding to make it the first-ever interactive gaming flick.

The spectacular success of Rajnikanth's Robot has made Shah Rukh Khan and his team of RA.One sit up and become doubly alert about their pet project.

 

An SOS meeting was summoned at Mannat on Sunday. Those present at the meeting included director Anubhav Sinha, sound recordist Resul Pookutty and producer Shah Rukh.

 

After viewing the rushes, a number of vital strategic ideas were devised, following a heated debate, after which everyone let their hair down at a Bandra bar. The most startling resolution during the day-long meeting was to convert RA.One into a full-fledged gaming movie. Sound designer Resul Pookutty says, "The challenge with RA.One is to create a balance between the two distinctly different worlds of gaming and movies.

 

We met at Shah Rukh's home on Sunday and watched the film. And yes, we've come up with a number of strategies to make RA.One different from all other super-hero films."

 

Says a source, "The climax of the film will actually allow audiences to play the RA.One game in theatres as they watch the film. This kind of participative cinema has never been done before in any part of the world." We can't wait to push the right buttons.

 

It has also been decided that a super-hero film without the drama and emotions won't appeal to Indian audiences. Says the source, "Shah Rukh feels Robot worked so well because it combines special effects with emotions and drama. In RA.One he wants the spectacle and the emotions in equal measures." Shah Rukh has invited Martin Walsh, the editor of Rob Marshal's musical feature film Chicago, to edit RA.One. Says the source, "The choice was between the editor of Avatar and Chicago. Shah Rukh has chosen the latter because he feels Chicago is closer to the pulse of a Bollywood drama than Avatar."

 

RA.One is 80 per cent complete. The remaining 20 per cent would be completed only when Shah Rukh is sure that James Cameron's Avatar and not Shankar's Robot is given a run for its money. Beep, beep. Game Over.

Shahrukh and Katrina in historical love story

Paris-based Indian filmmaker Vijay Singh is set to do what none has been able to in Hindi film industry so far. He’s in talks with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan for his next project, an 18th century historical love story between an Awadh king and a British girl.

Singh, who has shot critically acclaimed feature films like Jaya Ganga and One Dollar Curry in the past feels that Shahrukh, who has previously played emperor Ashoka, will be perfect as Nawab Naseeruddin Haidar in his third film, The Opium Symphony, based on his book Whirlpool of Shadows.

 

“I had met Shah Rukh regarding the movie and he had liked the idea. I am planning to approach him again for the role of the Nawab. He ruled Awadh from 1826-36 and fell in love with a British girl but their love did not suit the interest of opium traders at that time,” Singh said in an interview.

 

The coup is that to play the British girl, Singh has his eye on Katrina Kaif.

“Earlier I was planning to take a Hollywood starlet opposite him for the role of the British girl but I might talk to Katrina Kaif. I have been told she is British and is a fine actress,” Singh said.

Katrina beats SRK in mobile search

Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif is the most searched celebrity on the mobile phones and has beaten the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai. The research was conducted by mBit Infotech, a Value Added Service(VAS) provider.

Among the Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, Katrina is on the number one spot followed by Angelina Jolie, Kareena, Shah Rukh, Salman, Bipasha, Aishwarya, Monica Bellucci and Aamir Khan.

 

Commenting on the results, Raghavendra Agarwala, CEO of mBit Infotech, said: "It is amazing to see that Katrina Kaif is ruling the charts with a major pie, presumably implying that Katrina’s popularity is mounting for both national and international audiences."

 

The research is based on the searches performed by over 120,000 users of mBit in the first quarter of 2010 (Jan to April) and it also found out that "sex" is still the most popular searched keyword followed by music where mostly international music icons like Akon, Linkin Park, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna and Michael Jackson top the list.

Shahrukh Khan will be performing at IIFA 2010!

It doesn’t get bigger than this for IIFA 2010. None other than the badshaah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan will be performing at the awards night.

He gave IIFA a miss for consecutive five years apparently because of some differences with IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan. But that is past for SRK now. Now he is not only performing on stage but will also be seen in an IIFA charity match between Bollywood stars and Sri Lankan cricketers.

 

The organizing company Wizcraft proudly announces this to the press, “This year Shahrukh Khan will be performing at IIFA.”

 

Other than SRK, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Ritesh Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi will be dancing at the award function on the final day of the 3-day gala event.

 

IIFA is from June 3-5 in Colombo.

Karan Johar busy in release of My Name Is Khan’s English version

Karan Johar is currently in New York for the release of the English version of My Name Is Khan in two theatres of New York on May 5.

 

“It is meant for the non-NRI audience. It’s crisper, sharper cut and we hope to create a new market for Bollywood films,” says Karan.

Karan Johar, who left for New York for three weeks on Tuesday night, has discovered a new side to his personality that he never knew existed.Hosting the show Lift Kara De which ended last week, he discovered how little people from privileged classes gave to the needy.

 

Says Karan, “I don’t know how successful the show was. But it put me in touch with the real world. The show was about philanthropy and I understood the joy there is in giving. To meet all those needy individuals who came on the show connected me to a reality that most of us in the entertainment industry are cut off from the outside world.”

 

Karan was also bowled over by the amazing connectivity between the audience and the stars.

 

“Akshay Kumar,” Karan says, “with whom I recorded my last episode of Lift Kara De, has such an amazing and genuine bonding with his fans. Who says stars don’t care for the common man?”

 

Though the TRPs of Lift Kara De were not too encouraging Karan decided after hosting the show is to make a cinema that is reflective of a far larger truth than the elitist lifestyle his characters almost always assume.

 

Immediately on the anvil after his return from New York is Season 3 of Koffee With Karan. “I start work on that in July. But it won’t be in the same chatty mood any more. I think two recent events my film My Name Is Khan and to a lesser extent the TV show Lift Kara De have made me less self-centered. They’ve made me look outward into the world outside.”
