Sameera Reddy went in for the most expensive course!

Sameera Reddy has returned from Chennai a changed woman. The actress, who has suffered from sleepwalking for almost 20 years today has left the habit behind at the Oneness University in Chennai. Talking about it Sameera says, "I was at Shamita's (Shetty) birthday party when Shilpa and her mother convinced me to attend Amma Bhagwan's Oneness course at the University there. Last week, I went for a seven-day course and my life changed after that."

Shahid, Kareena interacted each other at Shah Rukh’s party.

One time lovers Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are known for ignoring each other ar award functions and other parties, however at a recent party hosted by SRK, both ex-lovers exchanged pleasantries thanks to director Karan Johar.

A source present at the party says, “Shahid and Kareena came face to face and everyone thought they would simply ignore each other like they have done on many occasions in the past. But this time, Karan happened to be present right there and instead of marching past each other, they slowed down for a bit. And the rest, as they say, is history.”

 

Kareena and Shahid kept talking for a long time and were later joined by Saif Ali Khan who also acknowledged and shared pleasantries with Shahid.

The source adds, “Shahid and Kareena have finally decided to leave their acrimonious past behind them. This was very evident in the manner all three of them – Shahid, Kareena and Saif – interacted with each other at Shah Rukh’s party.”

This is for anyone who is wondering why Shah Rukh Khan, who usually replies promptly to text messages, seems not to be responding these days. No, he hasn’t forgotten his manners - his phone is giving him a lot of trouble. Apparently, his handset is acting up and remains inoperable for hours at a stretch.

A source close to him said, “Shah Rukh is known to reply to each and every message he gets barring those from press people he doesn’t want to interact with. But his phone has almost conked off for the last few days. He is busy promoting his film My Name Is Khan and very tied up, but he will get it repaired in a day or two.”

 

The source reveals, “He has been getting feedback about the film from distributors, exhibitors, people from the media and his friends in the industry. His message box is choked with over 1500 messages.

 

This is also one of the reasons his phone has hung. He is also missing out on the collection readings the distributors are sending him. He has to constantly use a staff member’s phone to call Karan Johar to find out the box office progress of the film.”

Katrina Kaif Latest News 2010 – discharged from hospital




Bollywood Hot Actress Katrina Kaif, who successfully underwent a minor surgery at the Breach Candy hospital, has been discharged on Thursday.

The actress was admitted to the hospital Wednesday night, prior to which she had been advised bed rest.

“Hot Katrina has just been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital and is completely fine now. Because of her system’s low hemoglobin level, she had to undergo a small surgical procedure.

She’s resting at home, after which she will take off for her annual Christmas break,”

Katrina’s spokesperson said in a statement. The actress was recently seen in Bollywood Hit Film “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” and her next is Prakash Jha Bollywood Upcoming Movies in 2010 “Rajneeti”.

Aishwarya Rai’s pregnant pause!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been trying to become a mother for some time now. The fact that she has so far not gotten pregnant is actually a cause for concern for the entire Bachchan parivar.

According to a close family friend, though outwardly the family may have taken the when-it-happens-it-will-happen stand, but within, there’s a very ardent desire to have an heir for the family as soon as possible.

Mr Bachchan is especially sold on a grandson, but when asked about it he says, as usual, “When it happens, it will happen.”

But the question that is really bothers the family and their close friends is - when? After all, it’s no secret that Aishwarya is 37, and she isn’t getting any younger.

But it now comes to light that the reason for her inability to bear a child at the moment is because she has been suffering from stomach tuberculosis for a while. Says a source, “The medication Aishwarya is taking for her stomach ailment is hampering her from getting pregnant. Until the tuberculosis is fully cured, she is unlikely to risk a pregnancy.”

On his blog, an anguished Amitabh Bachchan has written about ‘the rich man’s TB’, dispelling the myth that the disease only afflicts the less privileged. Now that the supposed reason for the delay in her pregnancy is clearer, we can only hope and pray that the Bachchan bahu speedily recovers from the ailment and fulfills her ardent desire to become a mother.

Hrithik,Barbara intimate scenes edited in Hindi version

We might belong to the land of the Kama Sutra but Rakesh Roshan wants to take no chances with his home production Kites.

After approaching Raju Hirani and finally getting Brett Ratner to edit the film, Roshan has decided to considerably do away with the intimate scenes between Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori in the Hindi version on the instance of Ratner who is editing the film’s English version.

A source from the production unit reveals, “The film has an English as well as a Hindi version. As the intimate scenes between Hrithik and Barbara are way too bold for the Indian audience, Brett asked Rakesh Roshan to either completely delete or at least water down the passionate scenes in the Hindi version.”

“Brett Ratner was especially called to re-edit Kites. He was got in to cater to the international audience. Being an expert, Ratner gave his suggestion as he understands the mindset of the Indian audience very well. Also, the intimate scenes between Hrithik and Barbara should not become the talk of the town especially after rumours of their alleged affair. Rakesh Roshan is now making the necessary changes” adds the source. Says Rakesh Roshan, “My films are made for a family audience. There are no intimate or lovemaking scenes in Kites.”

Since the time Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor parted ways, Boney Kapoor’s project ‘Milenge Milenge’ has been suffering setbacks. First, the film has been out rightly delayed. Aamir Khan beats Shahrukh Khan

It was not expected but the late release of My Name Is Khan in Maharashtra, Mumbai particularly, caused the movie a loss of approximately Rs 2.75 to 3 crore. And thus the movie failed to beat last year’s super hit 3 Idiots, starring Aamir Khan.

As reported, the first weekend business of the Shahrukh Khan-starrer is estimated to be Rs 29.50 crore approx in India while the movie collected Rs 25 crore from the overseas market resulting in the grand total of Rs 54.50 crore. Whereas the overall first weekend collection of ‘3 Idiots’ was about Rs 56 crore. It grossed around Rs 37.50 crore approx in India and Rs 18.50 crore from overseas.

The mammoth figures establish the two movies as top runners in the box office race. Though ‘My Name Is Khan’ is creating ripples at overseas BO, on the home front the audience response is not as overwhelming as it was during the time of ‘3 Idiots’. In fact, the collection of ‘My Name Is Khan’ has started showing a drip on single screens.

Coming to Striker, the movie has managed to collect approx Rs 1.25 crore over the week, a flop. Ishqiya proved its mettle and did an average business in its second week. The film’s total collection is approx Rs 21 crore, including second week’s collection. However, the movie’s business would suffer because of ‘My Name Is Khan’.

This week’s major release is the Tabu-starrer comedy Toh Baat Pakki.

My Name is Khan Sets New Box Office Record

Karan Johar's much-anticipated new film My Name is Khan broke the record for the largest opening weekend ever for a Hindi film in North America grossing an estimated $1.86 million in its first weekend, February 12-14. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the Fox Searchlight release averaged a stellar $15,500 from 120 theaters across the United States and Canada. The previous record was held by Khan's musical extravaganza Om Shanti Om which grossed $1.76 million from 114 theaters when it was released over the Diwali holiday weekend in 2007.

My Name is Khan opened on Friday with $444,000, rose 65% to $734,000 on Saturday, and is estimated to dip 7% to $682,000 on Sunday, Valentine's Day. Monday's Presidents' Day holiday in the US will lead to a four-day debut of more than $2 million. MNIK also generated the highest per-theater average of any film in the Top 20 over the weekend.

Terrorism doesn't usually concern Bollywood but the recent bomb blast at the German Bakery in Pune couldn't have come at a worst time for the Maharashtra Government and Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. In the last few days there has been a ego clash been the Congress and the Shiv Sena over the release of the Shahrukh's movie My Name Is Khan. The movie had released all across Maharashtra especially in Mumbai amidst tight security.

Buzz up!This after Shiv Sena had called for a boycott of the movie after Shahrukh has supported the cause of the Pakistani players in the IPL. Sena had termed Shahrukh as a traitor who supported the cause of the Pakistan whose hand has been confirmed in the Mumbai attack. If Pakistan's hand in the Pune blasts is proven, Shahrukh will find it tough to save his face. For now the My Name Is Khan actor has been silent on the issue.

Shiv Sena which has been vocal in it's opposition to Shahrukh Khan has criticised the government. In the party mouthpiece Uddhav Thackeray said “It is the sin of (Ashok) Chavan that killed nine innocents in the terror attack” Criticising the extra security cover given to Shahrukh's movie instead of busy market areas he added "The bomb blast could have been avoided if the same security was given at appropriate places."

Akshay Kumar Latest News – Dance with Hot Jacqueline Fernandez




A heroine has been finalized to jive with Akshay Kumar - Akki for the remixed song of Apni to jaise taise... from Laawaris (1981). It’s Bollywood Aladin actress, Hot Jacqueline Fernandez, who has bagged the coveted role for Sajid Khan’s Housefull.

Ritesh Deshmukh, Jacqueline’s Aladin co-star will be also seen in the song. She was finalized for the item song on Thursday.

The song, which was originally sung by Kishore Kumar, has been re-recorded in Mika’s voice.

Portions of Kishore Kumar’s original track will also be retained. The interesting part of the re-recording, which was originally composed by Kalyanji-Anandji, is that director Sajid Khan too sang a few lines of the song along with Mika.

The remixed version is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Sajid says, “I had sung a few lines of Mast Kalandar in my first film as a director, Heyy Baby. So I was asked to pitch in as the lucky mascot for Apni to jaise taise too. We have completely redone the original song. However, if Kalyanji-Anandji were alive, they would be very happy with what we have done with their song.”

Commenting on Jacqueline Hot finally bagging this chartbuster, Sajid says, “We wanted a relatively fresh, untried face for the song. Both, Farah, who is going to choreograph the number, and me, thought that Jacqueline was perfect for it.” Apparently, the negotiations with

Sushmita Sen fell through. This isn’t the first time that Sushmita has said no to an item song.

In Santosh Sivan’s Asoka, she had turned down an item song, Aa tayaar hoja with Shah Rukh Khan, which was finally performed by Rajalakshmi Iyer. Iyer turned out to be a complete non-dancer, but Sajid assures us Jacqueline is a fantastic dancer.

“She’s going to give Akshay, Ritesh and Arjun Rampal a run for their money.” Jacqueline is on cloud nine about doing the song. She says, “I am so excited and nervous about doing the song. It is so cool. I couldn’t believe it when I was approached for the song. Nobody knows this, but I can really dance. I can’t wait to shoot the number.”

Kaakha Kaakha goes to Hindi

Kollywood's master filmmaker Gautam Menon's super hit police story Kaakha Kaakha (2003), which was remade in Telugu as Gharshana with Venkatesh and Asin in the lead roles, will be remake in Hindi with John Abraham as the hero.

Making his directorial debut with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, Gautam Menon earlier approached Sunny Deol and Fardeen Khan for the lead role, before John gave his nod for the Hindi version which will be produced by Vipul Shah.

"The film was announced in 2007, but after things didn’t materialise between Gautam and Sunny, it was put on hold. Later, Feroze Khan bought the rights of the film and wanted to cast his son Fardeen in the lead role. After he expired, the film was shelved indefinitely before John came to the rescue. The film will hit the floors later this year,” a source was quoted as saying.

Talking to the host about the tight security measures at Heathrow Airport, Shahrukh said he was embarrassed by the body-scanning machines which scan the outline of a person’s body and he even claimed that he signed the printouts of his scans for the female staff at the airport.

“I was in London recently going through the airport and these new machines have come up, the body scans...I was a little scared. Something happens (inside the scans), and I came out. Then I saw these girls - they had these printouts. I looked at them. I thought they were some forms you had to fill. I said 'give them to me' - and you could see everything inside. So I autographed them for them,” SRK had said.

Khan’s revelation raised many a brow as the scans are not made public nor printed out.

According to the BAA (formerly referred to as British Airports Authority) spokeswoman, SRK’s claims “simply could not be true” and are “completely incorrect” because the body scanning machines do not have the facility of printouts, and that the body scans are neither stored digitally nor distributed to anyone in any form.

Perhaps SRK’s comment about the printouts of his scans was just made in jest.

Bipasha Basu wants to play a junkie!

After much deliberation, Rohan Sippy has zeroed down on the actress he wants to play a junkie in the film ‘Dum Maro Dum’. Contrary to the rumours, it’s not Kangana Ranaut but Bipasha Basu.

According to Rohan, Bipasha has the pizzazz and oomph to carry off the role of a junkie in Goa. And though the movie’s title reminds one of the song ‘Dum Maro Dum’ from Dev Anand’s movie ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, Sippy says the similarities end there only. He also clarifies that Bipasha’s character is not modelled on that of Zeenat Aman who played a junkie in the 1971 film.

Set to hit the floors in two weeks, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ will have Bipasha pairing with Telugu star Rana Daggubati. Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead role and the supporting cast comprises of Pratik and Aditya Pancholi.

 Kangana Ranaut apparently did not sign the film because she didn’t want to work with her ex boyfriend Aditya Pancholi.

Shahid found his suitable heroine

Finally, Pankaj Kapur can heave a sigh of relief. For if the latest buzz is to go by, his long search for finding a suitable heroine opposite beta Shahid Kapoor in his directorial debut Mausam has ended.

The girl who has finally bagged the role is - Sonam Kapoor.

Earlier Kapur had announced that he was looking for a fresh female face for the film, which is based on an out-and-out romantic story. Many girls, including Govinda’s gorgeous daughter Narmada, Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha and even the ‘Rocket Singh’ girl Shazahn Padamsee were auditioned. But none seemed to have impressed the Kapur senior.

Himself a terrific actor, Pankaj reportedly wanted a girl who not just had good looks but could also act well. The search eventually ended at Sonam, who has already done two films (Saawariya and Delhi 6).

Though an official confirmation is still awaited, it’s believed that everyone in the film’s unit, from producers to creative team, approved of Sonam as Shahid’s heroine in the film.

‘Kites’ to be released on 21st May

Reliance BIG Pictures and Rakesh Roshan are waiting eagerly for their romantic mega project ‘Kites’ to hit the silver screen. The movie stars Hrithik Roshan and Mexican model Barbara Mori and will release worldwide in Hindi and English versions on 21st May in over 60 countries. The trailer of the Hindi version will be screened on 1700 screens worldwide on Friday, 12th February, where as the trailer of the English version will be released shortly in 1000 screens.

“We have always believed that Indian films and talent can enjoy the same success and recognition internationally as in India. Kites is a first-of-its-kind Indian film and it has already generated huge interest. We are proud to present the first look to a worldwide audience,” said Sanjeev Lamba, CEO of Reliance BIG Pictures.

Directed by Anurag Basu, the movie also stars Kangana Ranaut, Kabir Bedi and Nick Brown. The English version of the movie is presented and reworked by well-known Hollywood director Brett Ratner.

Shahrukh Khan Latest News - Hot Sherlyn Chopra with Kolkata Knight Riders




If the svelte figured cheerleaders in body hugging suits and those colorful pom-poms weren’t enough, Bollywood’s certified bombshell Hot Sherlyn Chopra will be adding the extra oomph at the upcoming IPL tournament 2010, thanks to Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan.

We hear that Sherlyn bumped into SRK at an event where the latter announced an official tie-up with an innerwear brand to manufacture and market dresses for his team, Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Sherlyn Chopra asked SRK if she could be the official cheerleader for his team, but the chivalrous Khan offered her more than she had asked for.

SRK, we learn, asked Sherlyn to be his special guest at all the matches of his team KKR during the IPL T20 tournament from mid-March to April.

Needless to say, Sherlyn grabbed the offer without a wink. King Khan is known for roping in a lot of Bollywood folks for the matches of his team, which sadly, was the worst performer of last year’s IPL in South Africa.

Sherlyn’s presence may or may not bring KKR luck, but it wills certainly glam up the VVIP box.

Hrithik Roshan Latest News – Upcoming Movie Kites Gossip




Hrithik Roshan Upcoming Movie in 2010 Kites needs a Bollywood editor.

Kites seem to be in rough winds again. The bilingual movie is already delayed, and now is scheduled for May 21 release date. But still, it has to be edited to a final Bollywood version. As reported, the international version is being edited by Hollywood’s Brett Ratner but for the Indian version producer Rakesh Roshan is still in search of a good editor.

Apparently Rakesh wanted Raju Hirani to do the final edit of the film, but the talented director of 3 idiots has allegedly said no. Sources claim that, “after the stupendous success of ‘3 Idiots’, Rakesh felt it would be prudent to get someone of Raju's expertise to sit in on the final edit of the Hot Bollywood Hunk Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori love saga.”

Well, director Hirani who is also a good editor and has edited most of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s films is reportedly a busy man with a list of priorities now. And thus he couldn’t make himself available for the Roshan’ most ambitious film till now.

Katrina Kaif does a Salman khan

While rickshaw drivers in Bandra will have enough stories to tell about a certain Mr Salman Khan hopping into a rickshaw in the dead of the night, his girlfriend Katrina Kaif isn't known for any such daring late night antics.

But on Sunday evening, Katrina was spotted getting into a rickshaw in Andheri along with her business manager.

It transpires that the actress had come to catch a movie at a suburban multiplex but when she came out after the screening, she just couldn’t figure out where her driver was.

An eyewitness reveals, "Dressed in jeans and a tee, Katrina was accompanied by her manager and bodyguards. She had come to catch Ishqiya. After the show, at around 10.30 pm, she came out and was trying to call her driver to get the car. Being a weekend there was a lot of traffic."

The source continues, "Even after trying several times, Katrina was unable to get through to the driver. Apparently he had parked her SUV in the basement and there was a problem with the network connectivity. By this time, people recognised her and a crowd started gathering. Thinking quickly, Katrina made her way to the road and hailed a rickshaw. She got into one with her manager while her bodyguards got into another and followed her."

A source close to Katrina confirms, "Katrina couldn’t wait for the car any longer because people were starting to mob her. But she completely loved the rickshaw ride back home to Bandra from Andheri.”
