Busted: Fake Salman Khan

A youth named Intakhawab Alam, a resident of Rehmatnagar in Rander, was arrested by ATS officials after conducting a raid yesterday. He was later produced before a local court, which remanded him to four days police custody, ATS sources said today.

Alam had created a website under the name of Bollywood actor Salman Khan and used to send messages to fans and asked for their comments and opinions on articles written on the site.

 

''To make his website look realistic, he created a separate web-page 'I love my fans. This is my mobile number'. He even talked with his fans on the phone to impress them. To collect money, he created a fake charitable trust and pasted ads on the website, '' G L Singhal, DGP of ATS Gandhinagar, said.

 

He said one woman from London donated Rs 1.5 lakh to his trust through internet and added that his uncle Zakirullah Sheikh was allegedly involved in planting of bombs in Surat in July 2008.

 

A case has been registered against Alam under section 66 B and C of Information Act.

Mugdha Godse Stops The Show!

The eyes of the fashion world have already been pleasantly impressed by the innovation and leading edge presentation at the first day of the Bangalore Fashion Week. Swapnil Shinde’s magnificently avant-garde gothic collection made the audience perch on the edge of their seats and when Mugdha Godse appeared in a clinging full-length velvet and lace dress with silk lace sleeves, they nearly fell off. Swapnil says he enjoyed playing with the gothic influences, “But at the same time I had to make sure that it was wearable, and it wasn’t too over the edge and extremely crazy.”

Mugdha recently attended the Pune International Film Festival, which proved very nostalgic for her as she’d spent a fair bit of her childhood there. She was able to recreate some of the walks she’d taken with her father. "Mugdha enjoys taking walks with her father but this time it was a bit different as now she has become a public figure and people started gathering around them so the walk couldn't last for long," said a friend.

 Mugdha is about to begin work on London Main Kya Hua? - a comedy thriller in the Pink Panther style with British duo Katrina Kaif and Upen Patel; and also a horror film with Bobby Deol which recently took her to thee exotic isle of Mauritius. “We took this glass-bottom boat ride right into the ocean, from where you could see the marine life right beneath your feet,” she says, “I have never seen such a wide variety of fish at one go! It is a must to participate in the water sports like snorkelling in Mauritius. Though I took a snorkeling trip to Marine Park and played with the dolphins, I was too scared to snorkel. But I will the next time, because I plan to go to Mauritius in the near future again.”

New Delhi, Bollywood actress Genelia D’Souza, who shot to fame with “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na”, has joined Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor in signing up as the face of a fairness cream brand.

She will now endorse Garnier’s new product Garnier Light, said a press release from the firm.

 Deepika is the brand ambassador of Johnson & Johnson’s new fairness cream Neutrogena Fine Fairness, while Bollywood hunk John Abraham endorses Garnier Men fairness cream. Sonam Kapoor is the face of L’Oreal white perfect and last year Katrina Kaif was signed up as the face for Olay’s skin whitening cream. 

Actresses like Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu have spoken against fairness creams as they feel it generates discrimination on the basis of skin colour.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have been missing from the bustle of Bollywood since last few days. Turns out the love birds were holidaying in Australia.

We hear that the trip was originally planned to coincide with Bipasha’s birthday in the first week of January but the busy shooting schedules made it impossible for them to holiday together then.

Now, finding a 10-day break in their hectic schedules, Jo-Bi flew off to Sydney and Melbourne where they binged on local food and did adventure sports like snorkeling and Scuba diving.

“It was a 10-day holiday without any phones and lots of food. We gorged on all kinds of local food but went out for our workouts too,” Bipasha told a news daily after her arrival back to Mumbai.

And who knows? Maybe another fusion flick can come out of the meeting? "Ranbir and Priyanka definitely want to meet him. I’m flying down to Las Vegas to join them on January 27. We’ll be meeting Stallone on the 4th or 5th of February," Nadiadwala told reporters.

Saif Ali Khan has already met the muscle man and now both Ranbir and Priyanka seem eager to do the same! "I think Ranbir and Priyanka will kill me if I go without them to see Sly.

India's women's tennis ace Sania Mirza, who had called off her engagement with Mohammed Sohrab Mirza yesterday will continue to play on world stage.

Sania's family sources today said the Australian open mixed doubles Grand Slam winner has now decided to focus fully on her game.

She is immediately preparing for the Federation Cup Asia Oceania group II to be played in Kuala Lumpur from February 2 to lead India's challenge in the tournament.

Fake Salman Khan arrested

A man posing as Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on the web to swindle people in the name of charity has reportedly been arrested by sleuths of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Gujarat.

Reports say a man named Gathiya Balam Pathan from Surat had posted the photographs of Salman Khan on the net a few years back and asked people to donate money for a number of charitable causes that Salman endorses. Pathan even gave his mobile number and talked to people posing as Salman.

Pathan allegedly conned many people this way and even received three expensive mobile phones gifted by fans to Salman Khan. Reportedly, he also got an amount of Rs. 1 lakh from a female fan of the actor from outside India.

However, after a tip-off from a source, the ATS squad has nabbed Pathan.

56th Bollywood National Awards Latest News Gossips




Bollywood takes the cake at 56th National Awards.

Bollywood ruled the 56th National Film Awards 2010 Saturday, bagging as many as 13 awards, with films like Fashion, Rock On!!, Firaaq and Jodha Akbar winning two awards each in various categories. But Bengali film Antaheen won the best feature film award and three more.

While Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion, a dark tale about the Indian fashion industry, won its lead Priyanka Chopra the best actress award and got Hot Kangana Ranaut the best supporting actress honor, Farhan Akhtar's cult music-based film Rock On got the Best Hindi Film Award. Actor Arjun Rampal won the best supporting actor for the same film.

In a post on micro-blogging website Twitter after the win, Priyanka who portrayed the role of an aspiring model in the film, wrote, “Won the National Award for fashion! Aaaaaaaahhhh! Too excited!! God is kind and so are all of u! (sic)." The 27-year-old actress also thanked her cast and congratulated her co-star Kangana Ranaut.

Ashutosh Gowariker's epic Jodha Akbar won Chinni Prakash and his wife Rekha Prakash the best choreography award for the song Azeem-o-shaan shehenshah, a number that depicts dance forms of different Indian states. Designer Neeta Lulla, who styled actress Aishwarya Rai in the film, won the best costume designer award.

Nandita Das' directorial debut Firaaq, based on the 2002 Gujarat riots, won the awards for best editing (A. Sreekar Prasad) and best art direction (Gautam Sen).

Even films like A Wednesday, Roadside Romeo, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye, Mumbai Meri Jaan and Thanks Maa took one award each.

While Neeraj Pandey's A Wednesday has bagged the Indira Gandhi award for Best First Film of a director, Yash Raj Films' Roadside Romeo bagged the best animation film.

Dibakar Banerjee's satirical Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! has been adjudged the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, Mumbai Meri Jaan won the award for best special effects (Govardhan), and Thanks Maa has got Shams Patel the best child artist award.

Anushka Sharma locks lips with Shahid Kapoor

Actor-turned-director Parmeet Sethi has put in, not one but three intimate lip-locks between the lead pair, Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma for his forthcoming YRF film and according to sources, the kisses are not the brush-of-the-lips type. They are full-on smooches.”

However, initially Anushka was not comfortable with the idea. Parmeet had to do a lot of cajoling. He explained to her in detail how the scene would be shot and how it was important to the story. Once the camera was rolling, Anushka left her inhibitions behind and delivered a smashing scene.

 

But things took an ugly turn when someone from the set captured the smooching scene between Shahid and Anushka on their phone. When Anushka found out she was quite furious. She immediately asked for the cell phones of everyone present on the sets to be checked and the clip to be deleted.

 

The shooting of the film has been completed and the film is in the editing stages. It is for us to wait and watch if the three smooches go unedited in the final print.

Mallika Sherawat looking sexy in transparent bikini

Mallika Sherawat can comfortably slip into most outrageous and revealing dresses as was quite evident at the premiere of ‘Inglourious Basterds’ in Hollywood last year. But the bikini she donned for the shoot of a sequence in director Jennifer Lynch’s movie Hissss left so little to imagination that her brother barged onto the movie’s sets in Madh Island and stopped the shoot midway.

If reports are to be believed, Mallika was wearing a semi-transparent skin-coloured bikini that gave the impression of total nudity. Also present at the shoot was a nude body-double for Mallika.

Apparently, what Jennifer wanted was to shoot Mallika’s face and take shots of the nude body double and then merge them together on the editing table.

However, Mallika’s brother Vikram Lamba, who is also one of the producers of the film, didn’t approve of his sister wearing such a revealing bikini and reportedly stopped the shoot, demanding that Mallika be given a better dress.

A heated argument followed between Vikram and Govind Menon, another co-producer. Surprisingly, Mallika sided with Menon and said she had no problem wearing the translucent bikini.

But it was Vikram who eventually had his way and Mallika was given a skin-coloured bodysuit. Mallika plays a snakewoman in the film.

After her film ‘London Dreams’ failed to click at the box office, Asin Thottumkal is left without work in the Hindi film industry.

“I have no films as of now. All that I can reveal is that future projects are under production and I can’t talk about them until the producers give me a go- ahead.”Asin divulged.

Though Hot Asin Thottumkal assured us that her fans would see more of her in movies this year, we hear from sources that with no Bollywood offers on hand, Asin is now looking at South Indian film possibilities. Buzz is that Asin has agreed to do a Malayalam film for a renowned director. She is also reportedly in talks with some other filmmakers from South India.

In between there were rumours that Asin was supposed to pair up with Abhishek Bachchan for Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’. However, the actress rejected the project finding the script not too appealing. We wonder if being so strictly choosy will prove a boon or bane for this talented actress.

Bollywood’s original khiladi Akshay Kumar might show some daring stunts while sporting innerwear. No kidding. Akki has replaced Bollywood hunk Salman Khan to become the new face of Dollar Club, an innerwear brand.

 

In fact, the company has plans to spend Rs 25 crore on the ad campaign which will feature Akshay. So what does the star have to say on his first innerwear endorsement?

The actor tells a tabloid, “I am happy to be associated with Dollar Innerwear because there is a perfect fit between Dollar and me, since the brand stands for style of the future generation and I have been always a style statement for younger generation.”

Asin was probed about her ideal man

After her topsy-turvy Bollywood career - a monster hit with Ghajini and a monster flop with London Dreams - South star Asin is taking her time with choosing her next project. "I'm taking up select films which excite me, which is why I do not have a number of releases one after another,” she explained, “I have some films in hand now but none of them have gone on the floors yet so I cannot reveal anything about them."

Rumours are spreading, however. Will her next project be with Ghajini director AR Murugadoss opposite Surya, thus reuniting the old team - or possibly a movie opposite Vijay, or Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much delayed Chenab Gandhi, or could it even be a Malayalam movie? Time will tell.

Asin was recently in town to launch the 55th annual Filmfare Awards which take place on Feb 27nd. She talked about how much the awards meant to her. "I received my first encouragement, the Filmfare Award, for my first Telugu film; and last year, I received a similar applause for my first Hindi film - Ghajini - too," she said, "Naturally, the appreciation given to me by the Filmfare Awards is not only very valuable, it is very special too." Asin has won Filmfare awards in three different languages. This year, 111 movies will be competing in 37 categories.

At the launch, Asin was probed about her ideal man. “I don't have a check list for my dream guy,” she confided, “But I definitely think integrity of character is a very important quality. I am not a person who values physical appearance more than how the person is at heart."

Sonam Kapoor nominated for fourth Asian Film Awards 2010.

Bollywood Hot Actress Sonam Kapoor is the only Indian to have been nominated for the fourth Asian Film Awards.

The 24 year old has been nominated in the best newcomer category for her role in "Delhi-6", said a statement after the nominations were announced here Thursday. She will be competing with four contenders from China and Korea.

The award ceremony will take place here March 22.

Daughter of versatile actor Anil Kapoor, who made an international mark with his role in Oscar winning film "Slumdog Millionaire", Sonam made her Bollywood debut in 2007 opposite Hot Ranbir Kapoor in "Saawariya".

Thereafter she was seen alongside Abhishek Bachchan in "Delhi-6", which didn't do well at the Bollywood box office Industry.

Now the actress is busy shooting for Bollywood Upcoming Movies 2010 "Aisha" and "I Hate Luv Stories".

Looks like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan Dosti is going to soon be a part of Bollywood Legendary Tales.

The actors aren’t just lavish with their praise and compliments for each other, but their gestures speak a lot about the equation they share. Though Salman couldn’t attend the special screening of his Bollywood Forthcoming Film Eros International Veer due to prior commitments, buddy Aamir made it a point to watch the movie. Asin has no film in her kitty

The mutable nature of stardom in film industry is such that one flop film can deal a severe dent to one’s career, particularly if it still hadn’t fledged fully. None knows it better than Asin.

She took the Hindi film industry by storm by debuting opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini which remained the highest grossing film in Bollywood until 3 Idiots beat it recently. But Asin’s rocketing career went for a nosedive after the much-hyped London Dreams opposite Salman Khan went bust at box office.

Today, the situation is such that Asin has no film in her kitty.

“I have nothing (no films) as of now. All that I can reveal is that future projects are under production and I can't talk about them until the producers give me a go-ahead,” Asin told reporters on Wednesday in New Delhi where she had arrived to announce the 55th edition of the Filmfare Awards.

We hear that Asin is indeed in talks with a few production houses but no deal has been finalized yet.

Aamir Khan and his ex wife Reena Dutta have maintained a cordial relationship even seven years after their divorce. Recently Reena was spotted at Imran Khan Avantika Malik Engagement Ring Ceremony with his long-time girlfriend Avantika Malik. Reena came down alone to the engagement which was held at the Malik farmhouse in Karjat to bless Imran and Avantika.

Reena is a regular face at Bollywood events involving Aamir Khan. She was recently spotted at the Premiere of Aamir Khan Blockbuster Movie 3 Idiots. The event saw Aamir Khan at the forefront with his wife, Kiran Rao accompanied by his son Junaid. Although Aamir and Reena have parted ways she still continues to be his support at time of need.

Akshay Kumar had a very severe pain

Recently, Akshay Kumar had a very severe back pain for which he had to cancel his shoot. Usually, Akshay Kumar is very dedicated to his work and hardly cancels his shoot. But the pain took over his head and he was bound to cancel his shoot for his own production, Patiala House.

Akki has been working non-stop for Nikhil Advani’s film at Mehboob studio and has acquired the back pain during an action sequence. A source reveals, "Since he performs stunts on his own, it takes a greater toll on the back. And he's had a back problem for a really long time. The pain wasn't getting any lesser. Akshay decided to call it a wrap and rest for the day. The doctor advised the actor physiotherapy and adequate rest."

 

Since he is the producer of the film, he doesn’t mind taking a break but he has the record of carrying shooting for other producers in the past even in the adverse condition. Confirms Nikhil Advani, "Yes, Akshay hurt his back while shooting. His back got strained earlier in the day during his exercises, but after the shoot, it got further aggravated."

 

In spite of the unbearable pain Akki joined the Mumbai Marathon as he was committed to it.

Kareena once commented that Kat is very sweet to her and there is no any rivalry between them considering that they are actresses of different genres of films.

Imran Khan gifts Volkswagen Beetle to fiancee Avantika Malik.

A red color Volkswagen Beetle has been gifted by Bollywood Bold Actor Imran Khan as an engagement gift to his long-time sweetheart, Hot Avantika Malik.

"Imran gifted her red Beetle as her engagement present. He got the car from Europe and was at it for a month and a half," a source close to the actor said.

The ring ceremony will be taking place at Avantika Family farmhouse in Kajrat outside Mumbai on Saturday night.

The couple has been dating for five years and was first spotted together at the premier of Imran’s debut film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ in 2008.

Engagement will be simple and low-key affair for only close family and friends

Everything about the engagement ceremony has been kept under the wraps since Imran and Avantika want the ceremony to be simple and low-key affair.

Imran said, “I don’t want my engagement to be a tamasha. We have invited 300 guests, mostly family and close friends. We wanted to keep it personal.”

Imran also revealed the guest list, “Bold Actor Aamir Khan will be there with wife Kiran, so will Mansoor (Imran’s uncle) and family.”

Karan Johar will be attending the engagement ceremony, but surprisingly Imran’s best buddy Hot Ranbir Kapoor is missing from the list.

On that, Imran said, “I have invited Karan (Johar), but no matter what media reports, I have not invited actors to the engagement. So Ranbir is not on the guest list.”

Imran and Avantika will be dressed in outfits designed by Karan Johar and Varun Bahl

Imran will be dressed in a black sherwani with ivory silk kurta and black trousers designed by Karan Johar and Varun Bahl for the big night ahead.

Avantika will be in a Varun Bahl creation.

Amazing thing is Imran has himself designed the engagement ring for Avantika. “I wanted it to be unique and special,” he said.
