It is not that filmmakers always drive actors to give their best; in fact they sometimes pamper their actors too.

It is said that Salman Khan fell in love with the Roberto Cavalli jacket that he wore for Vipul Shah’s ‘London Dreams’. So much, that the actor never felt like removing it and was seen wearing it even while not shooting. Sources said the filmmakers were surprised when he insisted on wearing the jacket again in portions that did not require him to wear it.

It seems that Salman’s obsession stemmed from the fact that the jacket was one of a kind and he really wanted to wear it as much as he could. Even during the break between the shots, the actor would be seen wearing the jacket, added the sources.

While Vipul Shah found this Salu’s obsession quite palpable. And so he gifted the Rs. 3 lac worth jacket to the actor. “It is a small gift from me to Salman,” said the producer.

Wow! If that’s a small, then what is called big?

Last year beau Saif Ali Khan missed out Kareena Kapoor’s birthday as she was shooting with Aamir Khan for ‘3 Idiots’ in Ladakh. This year too the plan was something of that sort but Aamir Khan’s last minute cancellation of shooting made the day for Bebo and her excitement doubled when Saiffu dear suddenly dropped in Rajasthan where she was doing a photo shoot.

Saif booked a suite in Udai Vilas Palace Hotel. On Saturday night, he surprised his darling further by flying in Kareena’s mom Babita, her best friend Reena and designer Shabina Khan.

Says a source close to the actress, "He had booked a suite and in true Saif style, he had it decorated it with candles, flowers and everything that she loves. Saif had recently taken her for a European holiday so Bebo wasn't expecting Saif to surprise her again, which he did!"

No marriage for Rakhi-Elesh

Rakhi is not going to marry the winner of her Swayamwar Elesh, she says its the series of irreconciable differences behind her decision.

A close friend of Rakhi says, “They were never really meant to marry. In the last episode of Pati Patni Aur Woh, they will declare that they’ve called off their marriage.”

When Rakhi was asked the same, she did not reveal whether she will marry Elesh or not, but said, Bahut farq hai hum dono mein. Elesh and I belong to different cultures.

He thinks West, while I think East. I don’t think an Indian girl should marry a boy with Western values (sic). During this new reality show, there were a lot of ups and downs between Elesh and me… well, there were more downs than ups.”

Aishwarya Rai loses to Madhuri Dixit

Both Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit proved to be excellent dancers when they danced together on ‘Dola Re’ for ‘Devdas’. But, now it seems Madhuri Dixit has won the race for the seat of the judge at a dance reality show. Rumors have it that both the beauties were being considered for judging ‘Dance Premier League’ with several Bollywood stars.

However, Aishwarya lost out to Madhuri as she quoted an exorbitant amount of money. The makers of the show couldn’t afford her and the opportunity fell into Madhuri’s favor as she had demanded an affordable price.

Madhuri’s long time friend and manager did not reveal much about it and simply said, “The discussion is still on.”

However, Danish Khan, the VP marketing of the entertainment channel acknowledged the truth and said, “Yes, Madhuri has been chosen to represent one of the teams.”

“I don’t want to talk about the money involved but Madhuri is definitely on board for Dance Premier League,” he added.

Our say- It is high time that the Bachchan Bahu realizes that she may definitely be one of the most beautiful faces of our tinsel town but with age taking a toll and fresh and promising faces entering the industry she has to accept some realities.

Priyanka and Harman promote their film on Radio Mirchi

Cancerian Priyanka Chopra and Scorpion Harman Baweja visited the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM studio to promote their upcoming flick, ‘Whats Your Rashee?’

The fans got to have a interactive session with the stars as the two shared anecdotes about the making of their latest movie with RJ Jeeturaj on Mumbai’s favourite show ‘Hi Mumbai’. They talked about their faith in astrology, their traits and star signs and everything about their rashee. They also praised the music of the film that has been given by composer Sohail Sen.

Talking about the film, Priyanka said, “It’s a comedy, all in all, a really funny story of an NRI Gujrati boy who comes to India and must find a bride in 10 days, and how his matrimonial ad receives responses from an astounding 160 girls!”

Not to mention here again that Piggie Chops plays twelve different characters in the film and when Harman was asked about whether or not the NRI’s character Yogesh Patel does marry eventually, the witty star replied, “Yes he does marry and I will even tell you who he marries…. he marries Priyanka’s character!”

The movie will hit the screens on September 25th, 2009.

Well, before you raise your eyebrows and feel pity for Bipasha Basu, let us divulge that the Bollywood hunk, John Abraham, is not married to any girl but his bikes. John’s love for his bikes is well known to all of us and he has been a brand ambassador for the auto giant, Yamaha Motors in India, for quite a few years now. Recently, when he was in New Delhi to launch Yamaha’s new superbike ‘VMAX’ (priced at Indian Rupees 2,000,000), he said that he had no desires to settle down soon in life as he was already married to his bikes. He added that he would marry Bipasha only after adding four more bikes to his collection.

John said, “I love motorcycles, I am married to them and I have had a honeymoon period with them. I don’t let anyone sit on my bikes or touch them.”

“Bipasha doesn’t like sitting behind me on bikes as I keep complaining about the bike getting scratched or damaged,” he added.

John Abraham with Shahrukh and Aamir

The jamboree gets bigger and better, Danny Boyle and Anurag Kashyap’s much anticipated movie, ‘Bombay Velvet’, which has been in the pipeline for quite some time, also stars John Abraham along with Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

In fact, the news is that John was the first actor to be signed for this film, an international epic. The film has three segments and according to reports, Shahrukh and Aamir will star in the first and third segment of the film whilst John has been cast in the second segment.

The cool dude of Bollywood has even started to work on his character as the role requires him to change his body language along with mannerisms. John will play a hero of the masses from the 1960s with his role being based on a real person.

John and Anurag bonded over the filming of No Smoking and Anurag is said to have been keen to have John as part of the film.

Mallika Sherawat, who is undoubtedly maximising to its full extent the post-production period in the US for Hissss recently attended.

The New York Fashion Week where she appears to have made a big impact on celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan.

"Mallika, you are not only the most beautiful Indian actress, you're the most beautiful actress. Period!" he exclaimed, whilst entertaining her on his Fashion's Night Out event.

After confirming with her that she was once known as the Kissing Queen of Bollywood, he went on to add, "Let me capture those luscious lips on my camera," before making good his promise.

Attending the BCBG Max Azria show at the Fashion Week in a tight body-hugging black tube dress, Mallika confirmed that Max would be designing for her in future and has asked her to become.

The Indian face of his collection  possibly even walking the ramp for him at the Paris Fashion Show. "It will be an honour for me to represent such a talented designer who has dressed all the top Hollywood stars," she said, "Regarding walking the ramp for him, it's still a work in progress."

Sridevi comes forward to promote ‘Wanted’

Bollywood’s sultry actress, Sridevi, was last seen in the 1999 Malayalam movie ‘Devaraagam’. Sri also made an exception for the sake of Salman with whom she featured in a number of projects including ‘Chandramukh’” and ‘Chand Ka Tukda’. The last Hindi film she acted in was 1997 release ‘Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha’. Since then the beauty has been missing the action and the spotlight.

It is again Salman who has managed to bring her out of the shell by making her appear in one of the episodes of the game show, ‘Dus ka Dum’, which will be aired on Sony TV this Saturday. The actress has done this favor to promote her husband’s forthcoming movie, ‘Wanted’ and will be accompanied by husband Boney Kapoor. Prabhu Deva and Ayesha Takia will also join Boney and Sridevi on the show.

“Now we can all shamelessly promote our film ‘Wanted’,” said Salman.

Raveena and Tabu back on screen together

They had their own on-screen ruling days when they changed their course to make only occasional appearances. Now, Raveena Tandon and Tabu will grace the screens again soon and that too together.

Raveena and Tabu will be doing a film directed by a Bengali filmmaker Shoumik Sen, titled ‘Gulab Gang’. Now one might wonder about this title… well, it is because the movie is said to be based on a 500-member women gang who wear pink saris and fight injustice against the oppressed. “The story is based in UP. Gulab Gang is on the lines of Omkara as it has a similar set up,” said the make-up man turned producer Subhash Singh.

‘Gulab Gang’ also has Shahana Goswami and Mahie Gill. Now going by the casting list that has mostly women, the movie too is a women-oriented film, a subject which the director wanted to do for a long time. And the spice is that these ladies are up for some dhaamal! Because, the movie has given space to few actions and violence that are said to be on the lines of the Hollywood flick 300, sources revealed.

It is also said that Raveena will be featured as the popular politician Mayawati. And it was she who had come up with the movie’s idea to the producer. ‘Gulab Gang’ will be produced under Hari Om Productions and the shooting will start in November.

The Bachchan Bahu is upset these days and the reason being her two ex flames, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. Both being very unruly to her resurfacing their past relationship in public and in a way disrespecting her. Ash has dumped her past and happily moved on in life. But both Salman and Vivek started digging the past when she was happily married to Abhishek Bachchan and leading a blissful life. She was so depressed with the comments made by Vivek on Farah Khan’s chat show and Salman Khan in an interview that she broke into tears on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’.

Reportedly she just kept on saying - “I’m living my life the way I want. I wish others would do the same. Just let me be.” Vivek on Farah Khan’s show spoke at length as how Ash has spoiled his life and ruined his career. He added that he made the press conference about Salman Khan threatening him for the sake of Ash but instead of feeling grateful, he called his act as immature. He blamed Ash for the fall of his career.

Same is the case with Salman Khan, in an interview, he commented whether he has ever physically abused Ash at the time when he was dating her.

While Ash’s well wishers commented, “We feel what Mr Khan and Mr Oberoi are doing is very ungentlemanly. It’s unchivalrous to talk about any lady who has moved on to a new phase in her life. It is especially wrong when the lady is very happily married. Her life revolves around her two families now. What happened in the past is done and over with. Do these two men realise how much her career suffered? She lost so many films because of her past associations”.

Ash maintained silence on the comments made by the two but her tears spoke about her pain.

The ad has been conceptualized by ad film-maker turned lyricist Prasoon Joshi along with creative guru  Ashish Chakravarty. The commercial has been shot by shot by Abhijit Choudhary for the Coca-Cola Open Happiness communication initiative.

Buzz up!Aamir Khan who has been the brand ambassador for Coke for many years now said that the concept of the ad was very interesting. He added that this was was for the features have been replicated as an animated character and hoped the fans would like him in the new animated avatar . Sonam Kapoor is the brand ambassador of NGO Khushii

Sonam Kapoor created a lot of buzz as she entered the tinsel town but unfortunately both her films ‘Saawariya’ and ‘Delhi 6’ bombed at the box office. So, the actress now prefers to keep tight lipped about her forthcoming ventures. However, she has her own list of achievements in her kitty.

She has been nominated as the only Indian to be featured in The Hollywood Reporter Magazine. She has also been included in the “Next Generation: Asia Class of 2009?, which features Asia’s new generation film personalities. Sonam has recently been nominated as the brand ambassador of NGO Khushii and is busy in its fund raising activity at Delhi.

When asked about her upcoming film Aisha, the petite actress refused to talk about it and said, “I am here to talk only about Khushii and not my film.”

She added, “I am honored to be associated with Khushii and I appreciate the work they are doing for the welfare of people. You should all work for the cause. A moment of giving is greater than a moment of receiving”.

Talking about Delhi, Sonam said, “I’m in love with Delhi. I love the food, parties and the people.”

Supreme Court Allowed Salman Khan’s Wanted Release

The Supreme Court Wednesday allowed film producer Boney Kapoor to release his Salman Khan-starrer “Wanted” on Sep 18.

A bench of Justice B.N. Agrawal allowed Kapoor to release the film after he offered to deposit Rs.2 crore with the Bombay High Court as security amount in a dispute on an advance he had  taken from LMB Holdings, a B4U group company.

Sexy Bips tops Maxim Hot 100 list

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu's sultry status stands confirmed. The Pankh actress has topped.

This year's Maxim Hot 100 list, beating last year's top diva Deepika Padukone. She has grabbed the sixth spot this time.

Interestingly, Transformers star Megan Fox has the second spot while Katrina Kaif is third on the list.

The top 10 list also includes Kareena Kapoor (fourth) and Priyanka Chopra (fifth).

Bips thanks her Bengali genes for her hot looks. She says such things can't be created and come naturally.

The 'hot' word has stuck with her, but she feels good about it. Slumdog... star Freida Pinto is seventh.

On the list while Mallika Sherawat is 10th. Lara Dutta and Shilpa Shetty are also in the top 10.

Interestingly, established beauties such as Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Irreversible stunner Monica Bellucci are not among the top 10.

Bipasha plays Abhishek's wife

What was ace director Mani Ratnam thinking when he signed the golden couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai not as Ram and Sita in his modern version of Ramayana, we don’t know. Ash is Sita, but Abhi is not Ram in movie Raavan; instead he plays the titular protagonist, Raavan. It’s south star Vikram who plays Ram.

Now, the speculation is rife that Bipasha Basu has been signed to play Raavan’s wife, Mandadori. According to sources, Bips has been told to keep mum about her role in the film. Earlier, it was believed that the elegant Sushmita Sen was approached for the role, but the lady politely turned down the offer.

However, there was no way Bips would have said no to the project. Sources claim that she gave her nod to the film immediately. Her costumes are ready and she will start shooting from mid September. ‘Raavan’ is Bips’ first film with Ratnam.

There is also a buzz that she has an item song in the film.

Rani & Priyanka to grace Toronto Film Festival this year

The 34th annual Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) to be held this month from 10th to 19th will see the world premiere of Anurag Singh’s “Dil Bole Hadippa” and Ashutosh Gowariker’s “What’s Your Rashee?”

So, the directors Anurag and Ashutosh along with the stars of the movies Priyanka Chopra, Lisa Ray, Rani Mukherjee and Harman Baweja will rub shoulders with George Clooney, Demi Moore, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and talk show queen Oprah Winfrey at this mega-film show. Other big Hollywood names include Nicolas Cage, Sir Ridley Scott, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Douglas, Penelope Cruz and Keanu Reeves.

From our tinsel town, other stars to make their appearance include actor Abhay Deol, filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Deepa Mehta’s brother Dilip Mehta, and documentary maker Vikram Jayanti.

We wait eagerly for the event when Hollywood will meet Bollywood.

Shruti Hassan made her big Bollywood debut with ‘Luck’ with Imran Khan but apparently her ‘luck’ did not favour her and the film bombed at the box office but this is anyway has not disheartened Shruti.

Shruti calls her father Kamal Hassan as her support system. She says, “I want to explore the whole world and I have my daddy’s full cooperation in this. I have self-drawn boundaries which I’d never attempt to cross.”

Shruti is also fond of Kamal Hassan’s prsent partner Gauthami and this does not go down well with her mom Saarika which has resulted in a situation that the two are not in talking terms with each other. Says Shruti, “My mother doesn’t like my friendship with Gauthami Madam. She is angry with me because of this count and avoids speaking to me. I’m not bothered about that.”

Recently the gorgeous actress Katrina Kaif’s fan committed suicide just for the fact that he was unable to meet his favourite star. And now another actress Kangana Ranaut had to face the problems due to a fan of her.

A young fan reportedly went on a hunger strike and demanded to meet “Kangana Ranaut” because he wanted to hand over a personal letter to her.

Sources disclose that the guy in question hung around Leena Mogre’s gym where Kangana goes for exercises regularly. However, the security guards at the gym did not allow him to endeavour anywhere close to the actress.

Well, how long this strike of the fan will continue only time will tell but in the meantime Kangana would be feeling happy for herself as her fan following is increasing day by day.

Katrina’s Fan Committed Suicide

The police team of India are investigating the suicide of a man in Bhopal, who may have killed himself because he was unable to meet Katrina Kaif. The actress is currently shooting Rajneeti with Ranbir Kapoor in the state.

The man was part of a large crowd who had gathered to see Kaif filming the political drama. After he was unable to speak to the New York actress, he drowned himself in a nearby lake.

The police have said they are uncertain of his motivation, but that there is likely to be a link between the two incidents. A senior police officer told : “An identity card with the name Motilal on it has been found from his pocket.

“The youth appears to be around 24-25 years old but there is no clue about his address. He had left no suicide note either.”

Allergy robs Bipasha s eyesight

The bout flu seems to have ceased, but who can stop the minor illness that arrive uninvited. Recently, Bipasha Basu had suffered temporary blindness due to some kind of allergy. It is said that the actress is very sensitive when it comes to her eyes. She has strong eye allergy due to due to dust, flowers, make-up for years. So before putting on any eye make-up she would have medication for her eyes.

Prior to her eye sore, Bips had severer bout of food poisoning while she was shooting in Kadaikudi for Priyadarshan’s movie and was bedridden for a couple of days. In the process she forgot to take any eye medication. During this time her yoga teacher presented her with a ‘Get-well-soon’ bouquet. Bipasha’s eyes swelled up and shut tight the very next day. On being thrilled to receive the bouquet, the actress had held the bouquet close to her face to smell it, and thus experienced the eye problem. The movie team had to cancel her shoot for two days.

Now recalling the incident, Bipasha jovially said, “Earlier too my eye has had problems because of the allergy; this became the baap of all allergies.”

Bollywood ki Rani, Rani Mukherjee is speaking loud and clear about her marriage in media. She makes a strong statement that gossips are fine as long as they do not harm anyone but media’s frequent report of her marriage has harm her career as no filmmaker approached her for a long time for the marriage tag. She added that she is not going to marry now. 

Says Rani "There is no marriage on the cards. Not at all, no engagement and no marriage. I think [the press] have been trying to marry me off since the last three years and they are just not able to get a fix on the date. In a mean while, Kat is not hurrying to endorse every product, she is offered. She is now the most popular girl of B-town and undoubtedly the hot favourite for several brands, who are just too keen to sign her. The gorgeous actress says, “Be it a skin, hair or a jewellery product, I am very selective about the brands I endorse. I undertake extensive research on the company and try to ensure that the brand delivers on its promises made to the user of the product.”

Preity does an Ash for Salman

It has surely been long for the break-up of tinsel town's most infamous couple Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Even though the latter is married to Abhishek Bachchan and the former is having a steady relationship with Katrina Kaif, rumours about them never cease to exist. And how can they? When our notorious Salman can't stop stirring stories again and again.
Buzz doing the rounds is that perky Preity Zinta has done an item number of Salman's home production Main Aur Mrs Khanna. And even though Preity doesn't want any comparisons to be drawn, the fact is that the choreography of the song bares a striking resemblance to Aishwarya's Kajra Re!

Sources reveal that Salman Khan happens to be Preity's close friend hence when he asked her to do an item number she couldn't deny. Talking about her role, the bubbly actress quipped for Times of India that it is an interesting cameo. The song is called Happening and she agreed to do it because director Prem Soni is her friend. And as Salman plays Prem in most of his films, she considers this one for Prem.

The director adds that unlike Ash who was a part of Kajra Re, Preity plays an important role in the film. However, he refuses to divulge further details. So will the chirpy beauty squeeze enough limelight in the presence of sizzling actress Kareena Kapoor? Let's wait and watch!
